Vintage style fashion uniforms
- Published:01st Oct 2016
Here at Alice’s Pig HQ we are in the midst of preparing for AW17!! Research, designing, fabric sourcing… it’s all go!
We get our inspiration from everywhere, vintage style fashion, an old film stars’ style, magazines… but there is one book I wanted to share with you which has been a great source of inspiration. It’s called ‘Women’s Military Uniform’ and is just that. It has great pictures of old uniforms for women in the first and second world wars. I don’t know about you but I was fairly familiar with men’s military uniforms but the women’s strangely not so much.
A few thoughts came into my head when sifting through the book... How can we translate this into modern fashion without it looking too ‘throwback’? What would an Alice’s Pig uniform look like? How can we transform the uniforms into vintage style fashion and not just replica’s? So without further ado I present Vintage style fashion uniforms by Alice’s Pig!
So let us know if you think I should include any of these in the new collection or whether we should offer our services to the forces… and I will get back to work.
Keep that uniformity going... look at our blog on the best stewardess outfits!
